Art and General Bric-a-Brac

(Not going to lie, I just wanted to use the term 'bric-a-brac' because I haven't done so in a while)

The BGSC (Baltimore Guerrilla Suspension Crew for those of you who haven't been paying attention) did a pretty epic photoshoot a few weeks ago.  It's probably been in the works for almost a year when Sir Ron C. sent Daddy a media text of this epic hand rising out of the sand with three simple words following- "Next BGSC hit?"  Daddy then sent me on an whirlwind internet search to discover everything I could about this mysterious Hand.

It turns out that it's part of 'The Awakening', an artistic installation at the National Harbor.  It was originally somewhere else and was moved once The National Harbor was created, although I'm not too sure why.  The entire installation is actually an entire 'man' rising from the ground, a bit reminiscent of a giant titan or god arising from...I guess the ground still. It's very Clash of The Titans-y.  Or Games of Thrones-y.  Because of that feel, we decided to forego the gasmasks and head in a different direction: togas.

We pulled the hit off really early in the morning in hopes of beating the elderly morning speed walkers.  Luckily (and unfortunately) it had rained heavily right before the shoot, so there wasn't many people out, except for the few workers setting up for some event going on there later that afternoon, who were probably too sleepy to even really notice us.  The shoot went off with relatively no issues and we got some pretty awesome photos from the shoot  (these were taken and edited by Hamsandwich)

The top photo has gotten pretty popular and we've gotten a lot of requests for prints.  I'm thinking that we might want to donate one for a fundraiser we're planning in September.  You know how Daddy loves his fundraisers.

I've been spending my last few weeks of freedom being extraordinarily lazy. I think the lazy lifestyle suits me :) I look healthier with a tan, I eat better and am way less stressed.

Danglin' Season: BGSC Hit

We just did the first BGSC hit of the season. We tried to keep it pretty small and interesting, especially since we learned quite a bit from last year's inaugural suspensions.

Knotty Nate and Jezebelle came out with us on their first official BGSC hit, although, they were at the merry-go-round hit that we did for The City Paper (PS: That merry-go-round no longer exists...we may have been the last people to touch it :D)

The location was some run down rack of buildings in Ellicott City, Maryland. I'm not sure what it used to be, but it seems like it contained some sort of engine structures within it, an old pumping station perhaps?

We ended up finding some crazy looking wrecks and doing a quick shoot. Here are some of the shots :D

I'm on the left, in case you were wondering :) but you probably weren't.

Everyone came over afterwards, along with a several others who couldn't make the hit, and we did our typical Friday night rope thing. So far, a great start to the weekend.

Weekend Recap

This past weekend was another crazy weekend in which I slept very little, studied and played way too much. I haven't really found the proper balance of school, play, sleep, but so far, I've been managing it.

Friday was, of course, Dirty Things. I think this happens to be my favorite play party since it is rope bondage oriented and I feel most at home with those who also love bondage. It was a particularly exciting DT, we were able to unveil our new custom-made suspension rings, raffle off our first BGSC print, raise money for NCSF and generally spend time with really great friends.

For months now, Daddy has been waiting (im)patiently for Adam the wielder to craft our suspension rings. I think we asked for it in early December '11 and now they finally arrived! Whoohoo! The shape is that of two circles combined into a sphere or globe. We absolutely love it for transitions and it gives you so much more surface area at the bottom to work with. I no longer worry about carabiners getting jammed up :D yay for improvements. I think that, if there's enough interest, we may mass produce these bad-boys and start selling them.

We were able to raise over $150 collectively for NCSF. We worked with N and J,who did their own fundraiser (for a buck you could spank J once). I'm happy to be able to bring some money, even if it isn't much, to their organization. If you aren't familiar with NCSF, check them out here.

Strangely enough, indey (eroticwetatomic blog) won and now she has a BGSC print. I swear, this isn't rigged. Now she can be the proud owner of the classic BGSC crew in Graffiti Alley. Yay!

Saturday morning was full of trials and tribulations for me. I know I've stated before that I'm very much into anal play, but I realize that I am quite the amateur when it comes to anal training. Like it never occurred to me that some things are just too big to place into your butt without lube and some warm-up. Let me regale you with this cautionary tale.

Daddy and I went to our favorite sex shop ever right before Dirty Things, Chained Desires. We had a gift certificate from Christmas that we had been dying to use, but wanted to wait for the perfect item. He decided what was needed was more anal toys and I readily agreed. In the shop, Daddy picked out exactly what he wanted: Savage Balls. A red flag went off in my head at the name, but I wasn't truly nervous about it until we used them that Saturday morning.

Rather than try to explain what Savage Balls looks like, here is a picture, curtesy of Amazon.com

Now, the size of each ball didn't really worry me, I've put bigger things in my ass. What was really throwing me off on my game were the little silicone spikes coming off the ball. Yes, I know, you're all thinking, "Wtf, it's just silicone, suck it up and stick it in." Well, let me tell you, I did and it HURT. I don't think I've ever used so much lube in my life. The feeling was very disconcerting, like some kind of long spiky creature was scratching away at my insides. I couldn't keep it in for very long and the process of pulling out these balls is a lot less glamorous than putting them in. There was quite a bit of bleeding for a few hours and some intense frowning and complaints on my part.

I will admit, though, the 3-4 minutes in which the Savage Balls were in and Daddy fucked me were incredibly intense. Maybe one of the most intense orgasms I've ever had.

I later asked the leading put-stuff-in-butt expert, Hamsandwich, and he asked me what kind of prep I did. Prep? Oh...well, I...put lube on and...that was it. He shook his head and told me that I need to warm up that area before trying to shove things into it. Makes sense. I told Daddy about that and he joked, "Oh, I thought the warm up was putting the smallest one in first." Jerk!

I think I may buy these for Hamsandwich so he can test them on himself and let me know what he thinks. This product may be tainted in my mind for a while.

I spent the majority of Saturday studying for my biochem mid-term. I was determined to stay home all night, but only a few hours into studying, I began to have cabin fever and needed to escape. I gave indey and Kamm a ring and asked if I could carpool down with them to another party, Nerdgasm.

Now, Nerdgasm isn't something I would typically attend. It's definitely geared towards the younger, newer players, and I just couldn't imagine the type of play I enjoy being in and watching being there. Regardless, my friend, Leo, and dreamcrush, Daria, both said they were attending, so why not? I decided to throw on my best, sluttiest school girl outfit and head over.

Surprisingly, a lot of people I do like ended up being there: Hamsandwich, Bettie Rage, Leo...but not dreamcrush. Sigh, oh well.

I was able to do a long awaited suspension on Leo :) I transitioned zir a couple of times and was able to get photos from the staff. Zi said it was the most comfy suspension to date :D I don't know if zi is blowing smoke up my sore ass, but it was nice to hear :D I was also able to tie up St. Nicky, the patron saint of all things incredibly sexy. At one point, as I was tying her hair, I had this odd realization that this is exactly how Daddy feels when he ties up little Asian girls. Was a lot of fun and definitely made for some cute pics :)

North Ave. Arts

Many a moon ago (so like...8 months ago), Daddy and I did a little photoshoot for Joe Giordano. He wanted to highlight different kinks, so obviously when he found a bunch of BGSCers running around in gas masks and rope, he immediately demanded to be able to shoot us. The concept was definitely interesting: shooting kink and fetish in something that WASN'T a dungeon (hey, that concept sound kind of familiar actually...) What he ended up with was something that looked a bit like a kinky year book photo.

These shots have apparently been on display for quite a few months now. We just got around to seeing them on Wednesday. It's a bit bizzare to see yourself blown up and posted in an art gallery. Even stranger were the prices: $1500 each, framed!

A friend took this weird, Inception-y photo of us looking at ourselves.

Baltimore City Paper Article

The internet version of the article is already posted! Check it out here! I think the journalist did an incredibly great job :) He had so many opportunities to sensationalize this story, but he really stuck to facts and impartiality. Kudos, Baynard Woods, kudos!

BGSC in the snow

The great city of Baltimore has finally decided to give The Baltimore Guerrilla Suspension Crew their 15 minutes in the sun by writing an article about us for The City Paper. It's going in the Valentine's Day issue. I didn't really understand the connection between artistic urban guerrilla style suspension and Valentine's Day in terms of Narwhal-dom, but after learning that the story is actually about kinky love, how could we say no? Hopefully BDSM and kink get a shown in a positive light via this article. I mean, what could be more positive than a bunch of beautiful people hanging around naked/in underwear?

F0r those of you who don't know what the BGSC is, let me give you a quick overview. The Baltimore Guerrilla Suspension Crew is something that Daddy and I cooked up a little less than a year ago when we first began to learn rope suspension. Suspension to us isn't really about play; it's more of a performance. It's an art and art meant to be seen by everyone. So we started to do things in public that we believed could show the average Narwhal that BDSM isn't so scary; it can be quite beautiful in it's own right. We also wanted to showcase the unusual beauty we found in Charm City. The project really started to gain popularity and before we knew it, we had a small following in our area and tons of people wanting to be riggers or rope bottoms for our photoshoots. It was, and is, pretty exciting. I've gotten a tumblr up and started that we post our pictures, bios and other things of interest. You should check it out and stroke our egos a bit.

We originally planned to do said photoshoot off of the cannon in Federal Hill, an homage to the original shoot we did there when we were scrubs that lacked any real photographers. The photos we have from the summer '11 shoot are all cell phone shots: grainy and rough. We really wanted to go back and put that Ham Sandwich, our photographer, shine on it. He's really taken our project to the next level. The cannon would have been perfect: it overlooks the Inner Harbor. It really proves that what we do is out there, in the public eye.

The major problem we ran into was that last minute, mother nature decided to give us the middle finger and snow. Federal Hill is quite steep and I remember that the first time we did a shoot their we ran into some dangerous issues that we absolutely could not address if there was snow and ice everywhere, so we ended up scraping this location for another time. Instead, we chose a merry-go-round outside of the Maryland Science Center. This also overlooks the Inner Harbor and gives that quintessential Baltimore view of the harbor's dingy sky and water.

We brought a bunch of newbies with us, N and J, a rigger and rope bottom, respectively. We also brought my girl-crush, Misha, along as well. She's never done a guerrilla shoot before and had always wanted to come out. I always feel like I stare at her and never make any advances when it comes to getting to know her more intimately. Girl-bot fail.

We kept the suspensions simple, just inversions, and dirty quick. Nothing feels better than kicking it old school with the guerrilla hits that last a grand total of 15 minutes or so. Normally, I usually feel pretty prepared for guerrilla shoots, but the cold weather really threw me for a loop. Luckily, N and J are from cold weather and knew exactly what to bring to make sure we didn't freeze our cute little bodies to bits. The suspensions themselves weren't bad at all, probably the most comfortable to date.

I do believe that Ham Sandwich and The City Paper's photographer got in some really excellent shots :) I saw the raw images from Hammie and I just know they'll be fantastic. I just need to grab model release forms for N and J (aka the 'please don't sue me' paperwork) before I can post their images.
